Why One Piece?

Valentine for this collection of rings uses a single piece of silver with a legal title of 925/1000 per creation, which she sometimes combines with "côte de maille" in 925/1000 silver. She can also set fine or precious stones on certain pieces, by simply folding the edges of the ring over the mineral.

This work is done in the style of the Japanese folk art Origami, where a single piece of paper is generally used to obtain a fold giving shape to a model, the best known of which is the paper crane.

In origami the paper can be cut or glued, for her jewelry work Valentine uses saws and files to cut, shape, the 925/1000 silver solder to gather and fix the two opposite sides of the ring body formed by the folded and folded plate.
