My idea of jewelry is far from smooth. No, for me, making a piece of jewelry is giving of yourself. My creations resemble me: raw, massive and unexpected. They are the reflection of my past experiences, from the happiest to the darkest.

In this Krazy Stones collection, Anthony Barrouyer creates jewelry from French coins "La Semeuse" which are made of silver.

For the historical side, it is important to know that it is not really possible to precisely locate the invention of money, we know that gold and silver have been used as a means of exchange since 4000 years BC.

Concerning "la Semeuse", she was born in 1887, her effigy is taken up under the Third, Fourth and Fifth Republic even among the three French models of the Euro. In 1887, Oscar Roty, an emeritus engraver, designed a medal for the Ministry of Agriculture, the project remains unfinished. Eight years later, Paul Doumer, Minister of Finance, chose Oscar Roty to engrave new coins in order to create "A new currency [...] in accordance with the new ideas..." and Republicans of France. The engraver took up the image of the agricultural reward whose rural aspect fades for an idealized representation. The image will cause controversy because this woman with the Phrygian cap is for some sowing "disorder, anarchy and tares" while the real idea is to illustrate the influence of republican ideas spread by France in the world and the spirit of freedom. Concept in total adequacy with the spirit of the Krazy Stones creations of Anthony Barrouyer.
