To create this ring, I used the lost wax casting technique.

The setting measures 3.5 cm x 2.4 cm, set with a Turquoise Matrix.

This stone was considered sacred by the Egyptians, Persians, Tibetans, Indians, Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas, displaying shades of sky blue, blue-green, and apple green when altered.

The shade "turquoise blue" is quite rare.

It is called Turquoise Matrix when the stone is streaked with brown, gray, or black veins or clouds.

Before becoming a piece of jewelry, I sculpted it entirely in wax using only a saw, cutting at different angles each time, creating different layers to cast it in silver.

Afterward, I applied a patina to give my work even more dimension.

Geology, a science whose main object of study is the Earth, encompasses multiple disciplines. Anthony Barrouyer's collection of rings associated with this theme also presents a style of jewelry, with a common spirit but different characteristics. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are made of solid silver with a legal fineness of 925/1000, sometimes combined with gold at a legal fineness of 750/1000, with or without precious or semi-precious stones. For some creations, the aesthetics achieved through the work of angles, hollows, and openings in the metal evoke the features of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevices, steep terrain marked by the erosion of time.

Sometimes the striations in the metal of the ring resemble the layering of geological sedimentary rocks that can be observed in rocks. Other jewelry pieces in 925/1000 silver and 750/1000 gold may resemble volcanic activity, specifically the appearance of volcanic rocks after an eruption, such as slag, where metals seem to have fused or melted, or even shattered due to extreme heat.

Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection may evoke plate tectonics, with the superposition of different pieces of 925/1000 silver creating a geometric but asymmetrical style.

Finally, for other pieces, all unique as I mentioned, there is a reference to speleology, specifically to stalactites and stalagmites, forming and evolving in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to come together to form columns.

As you have understood, the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, with a raw and distinctive style where the aesthetics of the jewelry underline the physical history of our complex and secretive planet.
