To create this ring, I used the lost-wax casting technique.

The base measures 3.5 cm x 2.6 cm and is set with a Turquoise Matrix.

This was a sacred stone for the Egyptians, Persians, Tibetans, Indians, Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas. Its color varies from sky blue to blue-green to apple green when weathered.

The "turquoise blue" shade is rare.

It is called Turquoise Matrix when the stone is crisscrossed with brown, gray, or black veinlets or clouds.

Before turning it into jewelry, I sculpted it entirely in wax using only a saw, each time using a different cutting angle. I created different layers before casting it in silver.

I then applied the patina to give my work even more depth.

Geology, a science whose primary focus is the earth, is divided into multiple disciplines. Anthony Barrouyer's ring collection, associated with this theme, also presents a jewelry style, with a common spirit but distinct characteristics. The rings, pendants, and bracelets are made of 925 sterling silver, sometimes combined with 750 sterling gold, with or without fine or precious stones. For some creations, the aesthetic created by the work of angles, hollows, and openings in the metal evokes the appearance of rocky landscapes, cliffs, crevices, and steep terrain, marked by the erosion of time.

Sometimes the striations in the ring's metal recall the superposition of geological sedimentary layers that can be observed in rocks. Other jewelry pieces, made of sterling silver and 750/1000 gold, can resemble volcanism, more specifically the appearance of volcanic rocks after an eruption, like slag. The metals appear to have fused, melted, or even burst under the effect of extreme heat.

Pendants from the Krazy Stones collection can evoke plate tectonics, with the superposition of different sterling silver pieces creating a geometric but asymmetrical style.

Finally, for other pieces, all unique, I remind you, there is a reference to caving, more specifically to stalactites and stalagmites, which form and evolve in caves. Their shapes are irregular, elongated, and sometimes they seem to join together to form columns.

You've got it: the Geologic Collection is a visual journey, a raw, distinctive style where the aesthetic of the jewelry highlights the physical history of our complex and secretive planet.
